Green Roof - A Case Study by Christian Werthmann - a book chronicling [in depth] the design and construction of a green roof for the American Society of Landscape Architects‘ headquarters in D.C. The ASLA hired Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, in collaboration with the Conservation Design Forum, to design the green roof ‘hybrid’ - meaning that it would be both a ‘green roof’ and a ‘roof garden’ [a distinction made clear in the case study]. The 3,300 square foot completed roof meets all the sustainable + aesthetic criteria mentioned above, and provides a rooftop hangout for the ASLA.Click HERE get 3 free samples.
A different kind of green wall- Via architecture.MNP
The project - a prototype green wall installation for the 2008 AIA convention
that will be in Boston in May - aims to transform a blank brick wall
into ‘a lush green environment’, both bringing attention to
underutilized sites in Boston and providing a green solution to improve
public space in the city.
